When you want to password protect a directory so that ony you (or certain people) can access it.

| How? |
A file called .htaccess is added to the directory, the webserver will see this and only allow people who have entered the correct username and password to view files in the directory.

| HowTo: |
- Go to Password Protection in the control panel.
- Select the name of the directory that you wish to protect.
- Click the box Folder requires a password to access via http://.
- Give the protected resource a name. This will be in the title bar when a visitor is prompted for a login and password.
- Click Save.
- Now click Go Back.
- Now add a user:
- Enter a Username and Password.
- Click Add New User.
